"We Shall Dance Once More"
We laughed; we cried; we loved…we danced, a moment in time, bathed in blissful union.
Suddenly our rainbow turned to black and white, a hundred-year old ghost turning the page. Half embalmed I watched you depart. Your kiss, your warm embrace remains. The day wore on, the sun dragged heavily over barren skies. My heart protrudes through broken roots of my soul, veiling my deepest feelings; fearing the next move within the bestial frame.
Each moment of every day I trace the memory of your lips upon mine, your touch upon my heart. Your image surrounds me, reflective of preceding chapters and what lies ahead. Haunting melodies stop me in my tracks, your presence felt deeply.
I’ve paid the toll for each brooded wrong, bearing grief, craving death; swirled in the dust like foreign matter as fingers point sharply. I’ve drowned on rain-soaked earth as judgment harshly severed my being. Attempts to take away what I cherish most, a huge torrent redirecting my path.
Without pause between breaths, I trace the horizon, determined to climb the mountain, against all odds. I dream of a peaceful meadow where we can run free, resuming our love beneath moon’s radiance as cherubs sing in approval.
Silver rains fall gently against my eyes, your face seen in the distance, mingled with spring. A thousand maddening efforts of life evaporate, faith that our love will stand the test of time...
