Shadows veil
upon unlaid ghosts
spread densely across
an unsettled sea

Crash the cold winds
against waves of thirst
dreams fragmented and lost
in the searching

Rumbling tides devour
as songs of contempt
leave frayed
the wings of doves

Outstretched arms fall
and leaden legs cripple
as the wanderer
kicks up sands to nowhere

Incessant rains hover
drowning one who failed...
to breathe
