"Gift of Unsought Grace"
Within etched memories
I go back…
to a place
Called childhood…
Where Christmas was magical
Breathed in with marvel and belief
Blessings of the season, savored
Letters to Santa
made wishes come true
Headlong moon hung across bustling streets
as carolers voiced in song
Church bells rang in camaraderie
Midst the force of God
Thankful for His gift
of Love and Deliverance
A time souls were reshaped
Semblance of rebirth and life
Under bright stars that never died
Illuminated vision
For all to see
Sky caught between evergreen
on white-blanketed ground
Snowmen adorned
as icy winds
Chilled innocent faces
Tree shined with silver and gold
Glowing in radiance and beauty
Bejeweled with an Angel
As if sent from Heaven
In a place called "home"
In my eyes,
Mommy and Daddy wore a halo of their own
Walking in the image of God
Now they’re in a place
Wings spread high
Where shadows never dim the sky
Blazing a trail behind
For all those they touched
I wonder if there are trees in Heaven
With wondrous color all around
As they stroke the hands of Saints
I’ve passed through moments wrought with pain
Life crumbling damply
Longing to bring back those magical times
The meaning sometimes lost,
laughter unheard
Wondering why the music no longer played
Did the earth remember me?
As my world was rearranged
Love’s an open door to life...
a path that demanded my faith
Those I hold close to my heart remain
Memorable through LOVE
A vessel where I found...
The Gift...
of Unsought Grace
