Silence embeds the night
hovering over clouds
I’ve failed to move away
I seek shelter
Falling short in my endeavor
One step forward
three steps backward
Confidence pushed down
into confusion
The game of life rigged
Broken promises that drain me
Light lost on a winding road
Unable to tread another mile
Arms outstretched
Reaching for steel ropes
Smelling fear…
as my grip slips loose
Letting go is easier...
I’ll become the dove
and fly away
Stars reflected on serene skies
Such a beautiful sight
Cosmic fires pulsating
through my meager soul
The mystery
mutely speaks in vain
as the pain is released
Lying latent in radiant sun
without sorrow
Frozen mist upon my face
melts
And the embers slowly fade
into ash
A cheap escape…
