"Black In Upon Ashen Pages"
Arms spread
revised and perfected
awaiting an anxious breath
Silhouette of one-
latent on a morose ceiling
where beautiful reflections once danced
Silence bounces off porous walls
as airless shrieks shift across
splintered shadows
Unable to find traces of him
in pitch-dark emptiness
A thousand kisses born in obscurity
body swaddled in concrete
Stabbed by the mark of a stranger
drowning within
a ghastly performance
He lost the key
and split my mind
My heart unheard-
dripping and dithering with confusion
I listened for my voice
My own image faded
as the moon eclipsed in midst of the sun
thirsting, hungering
Breathing in ancient dust
Licking my wounds again and again
Shielding myself from his name
trust in love destroyed
How I remember
the sound of the door-
closing
the scent lingers still
on the pillow his head once rested upon
that embraced our dreams
firmly
and my unconscious is milked-
through black ink upon ashen pages
